Comfort Keepers helps both my father and father in law on a regular basis and my family is very pleased with their caring and attentive staff. My mother was first resident of LifeSelect house in Fredericksburg and lived there almost two years till her passing. The one on one care and attention she got, was tremendous. If we had concerns about anything, we were encouraged to contact the staff and our questions were answered very quickly and with much understanding. LifeSelect is a great alternative to other forms of Long Term Care facilities. I would not hesitate to go to a LifeSelect house for myself or my spouse and I would highly recommend as the next best thing to staying in your own house.
The Comfort Keepers staff located in Fredericksburg has such a warm friendly vibe as soon as you walk into the building. They work hard to keep not only our clients happy but the caregivers as well. A great company to work for. They really look after their clients and as such their caregivers are given every assistance they need. Everyone is so easy to talk to about any little problem that may arise. I'm so glad I decided to change fields and come work for them.

My father was hospitalized in October for three weeks. When he was discharged I did not feel comfortable with him returning to his home to live alone. My father insisted that he wanted to live in his home for as long as possible. Me and my husband have two children and have very busy lives and were unable to take care of all of my fathers needs. I turned to Comfort Keepers when they were recommended to me. After our initial meeting, we agreed on 8 hours per week to start. Micke has been helping my dad out ever since. Micke's help has been a godsend to us. She does a great job with all the house work that needs to be done and weekly grocery shopping. She even addressed my fathers Christmas cards. Thank you Micke!
We would like to recognize Denise Myers. Denise has been with Mom for quite a while now, working the overnight shift. This is especially important, as Mom is often up much of the night. Denise sits with Mom and keeps her company. She is positive, caring, pleasant and personable. She has a comforting, calm, gentle, sweet demeanor. She wants Mom to be happy, and is sensitive to her needs. She enjoys Mom's cat with her. Denise does extra things that are important to Mom, even though it is not expected of her. She pitches in to do extra when necessary, even at her own inconvenience. Denise gets along well with others and communicates well. She is flexible in regard to giving and taking responsibility. When Mom went to Va. Beach for a few days, Denise and Nekisha went with her. They worked well together, sharing responsibilities and adapting their hours as needed. We are pleased to have Denise taking care of Mom.
We are writing to complement Nekisha Johnson. She is an excellent caregiver who is always concerned about Mom's comfort and happiness. She cooks meals that Mom likes and that are consistent with her dietary restrictions. Nekisha's meals delight Mom, as Mom loves to eat! Nekisha is sensitive to Mom's wants, needs and preferences and does special things to make her happy. Nekisha has excellent rapport and interpersonal skills with Mom. She is especially adept at convincing Mom to do things that she does not feel like doing, but that she needs to do. She is always concern about Mom's pain or discomfort, and looks for ways to make her more comfortable. Nekisha is a good team player. She communicates and problem solves well with others. She maintains a calm, professional demeanor in all situations. I will always remember Nekisha calmly bailing water out of the bathroom through the window when the sewer line broke and the bathroom flooded! Nekisha is hard-working, organized, structured and efficient. She takes responsibility to cook and clean beyond what is expected and without being asked. We are indeed very fortunate to have Nekisha.
My mother, Margaret Cieless has been a client of Comfort Keepers only since August, 2012. I am emailing you to let you know how her Comfort Keeper, Carol Pfeiffer has made a difference in my mother's life as well as my own. I am my mother's full-time caregiver & she has resided with my husband and me for 7 years. Last year at the age of 89 she was diagnosed with dementia. She is very hard of hearing & has Macular Degeneration. We knew we needed additional help with her and for us. When we contacted your agency, we were clear about my mother's needs and ours. I can honestly say that Comfort Keepers made a perfect match for my mother with Carol Pfeiffer. Carol has become an invaluable part of our family & care for my mother. She interacts patiently and compassionately with her and is always concerned with her well-being & safety. She engages my mother in fun and mind engaging games, some exercises and has become a welcome part of my mother's week knowing that Carol is coming to visit. Recently, I had Total Knee Replacement surgery and am in my 5th week of recuperation and intense Physical Therapy. Carol has been our Angel of Care And Hope for the entire family now. She is helping now with preparing lunches, changing bedding & doing laundry. Chores that have become difficult for me to perform as I am in the process of rehabilitating my leg. I can only say that Carol Pfeiffer and Comfort Keepers has become an invaluable part of my mother's life and my own as I deal with my surgery recovery. Our caregiver, Irene Scott Bryant, has been with us now for over two and a half years. She comes three days a week to care for my mother-in-law, Adele, who has Alzheimer's and cannot be left alone. Irene comes with such a cheerful attitude and helping hand. Her greeting always signals happy smiles in Adele and a sigh of relief in me. No matter what is going on, Irene encourages me to let her take care of it and to go, and have a great time! She seems to know that she is caring for my husband and me as well as her client Adele. When new issues come up in the care of Adele, Irene brings her knowledge, experience, creativity and love to the situation, and helps us find solutions that may never have occurred to us. I always return to find Adele well and happy. Often I am greeted by laughter as I walk in the door. Irene helps with lots of bed-changing and laundry, prepares meals, exercises with Adele when appropriate and takes Adele to the hairdresser and on drives around town. She does all the things one might expect of a caregiver. But she does it with such genuine love and joy! She is a positive influence on all in the family.
