About Our Owners
Sue and Joel Peterson founded the Fargo and Grand Forks Comfort Keepers® franchise in 2004. While serving as a franchise business consultant for Comfort Keepers—a role in which she helped new franchise owners get their businesses off to successful starts—Sue developed a strong appreciation for the company and its purpose and commitment to enriching the lives of older adults through senior home care services.

Ultimately, she decided she wanted to become a franchise owner herself so she could have a more direct hand in helping seniors reach a home caregiver. Today Sue and Joel appreciate having the opportunity through their franchise to make a positive difference for seniors, helping them maintain independence and regain a feeling of control in their lives.
The Petersons are often humbled by hearing positive comments about how much Comfort Keepers has benefited seniors, helping extend the time they could continue living in their own homes. To further assist seniors in the region, the Petersons have developed relationships with local senior and health care organizations as well as with other home caregiver teams. This includes a partnership with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Our clients' families can choose to be as involved in their loved one’s care as they desire. No matter the degree of involvement, we keep all families in the know about their loved one’s care and any concerns we may have.
Families who take an active role with their home caregiver often count on us for respite care. Through respite care, a Comfort Keeper comes into the home on an as-needed basis to allow the family caregiver to rest and re-energize, go to work or take care of other responsibilities.
