When can I get care from Comfort Keepers?
If you’re ready to create your care plan with Comfort Keepers, your first step is to contact us in Charlotte. We’ll come to your home to get to know you and what services you’re looking for, and then we’ll recommend a caregiver who has the right mix of experience and personality traits to be a good fit with you and your family. You’ll have the opportunity to interview that caregiver, and if you’d like to work with them, services can usually start within a few business days.
Who are the caregivers you work with?
Our caregivers are licensed and bonded, and professionally trained. We seek to hire local individuals with diverse experiences that incorporate Alzheimer’s and dementia care and other specialized needs alongside a heart to serve the community and a dedication to providing excellent elder care. Each candidate is thoroughly screened and extensively trained before starting to work with our clients. To establish the utmost trustworthiness of our employees, we run national and local criminal background checks, DMV, and personal and professional reference checks.
Can my caregiver work with me in a nursing home or other assisted living facility?
We have clients who have found that live-in facilities can’t provide the full services that they need or desire, and we’re happy to work with you to find the solution. We can provide companionship and/or personal care to seniors residing in assisted living communities or nursing homes who may need additional care.
What if my caregiver gets sick or takes a vacation?
If your caregiver is unavailable for any reason, you will usually know well in advance. In the case of illness, you’ll be notified by our client care coordinator, who will also introduce you to a replacement caregiver. The replacement caregiver will be fully trained with your schedule, services, and preferences before they arrive in your home.
What if my loved one needs to be changed?
Your senior at home care plan is customized to fit your budget, your schedule, and your physical, emotional, and cognitive needs. If at any point there is a change to any of those factors, we will immediately work with you to adjust your care plan. Your care plan is designed to give you the best quality of life possible, and we will flex with your changing needs to be sure it continues to do so.
