Professional In-Home Care Services in Brunswick, ME
Comfort Keepers in-home care helps seniors stay independent within their own homes in Midcoast, Maine.
Comfort Keepers began serving the Brunswick and surrounding communities in May of 2012. Having worked for a local Medical Equipment service company in the area for over 17 years, the owner, Sean Welton, noticed the need for a non-medical in-home care service in and around the Brunswick area. We love our community, and many of the staff, along with the owners, are Native Mainers and are passionate about serving other Mainers and people who have moved to or are visiting this beautiful state.
In-Home Care and Other Services in Brunswick
Comfort Keepers of Midcoast Maine uses the unique care philosophy of “Interactive Caregiving.” This philosophy is about doing with, not for our clients. We find that if our clients stay involved in daily tasks and routines, then they are able to remain at home while feeling independent. This independence brings joy to our clients while providing their loved ones a sense of peace, knowing there is someone watching over mom or dad.
We also encourage our more active clients to get out of the house and enjoy what beautiful Brunswick has to offer. We are able to provide transportation and accompany them on trips to places in and around Brunswick. Clients love to catch a summer musical at Maine State Music Theatre on the beautiful campus of Bowdoin College, visit one of the many museums like the Joshua L Chamberlain Museum (which for a Civil War buff is a must-see!), or have a huge lobster roll at Libby’s Market.
Comfort Keepers believes that keeping our seniors active in mind and body will make their quality of life much more fulfilling. We work closely with the local hospitals in order to facilitate a smooth transition home. It is also a normal occurrence to see us in assisted living facilities throughout Mid-Coast Maine, helping provide one-on-one care. We also work with local Hospice programs, Chan’s Home Health and Hospice with Respite care, or any additional services needed for the family and client.
Working with the Community
We donate to the Feed Seniors Now food drive, send teams from our office to participate in local breast cancer walks, sponsor local charities, and give educational talks. These are other ways that we involve ourselves in our community, representing mutually beneficial relationships that we have with organizations and individuals in the community. We support and learn new things from these organizations and individuals, and we give back to these organizations and individuals financially and in other ways.
