Dr. Tao Xie, MD, PhD

Dr. Xie obtained his Residency in Neurology at the Emory University in Atlanta, Clinical Fellowship in Movement Disorders at the Columbia University in New York, and Research Fellowship prior to then at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Dr. Xie is interested in the effect of DBS on freezing of gait, swallowing function and tremor in PD. He is also interested in biomarkers, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease and atypical Parkinson disorders (progressive supranuclear palsy, multiple system atrophy…), and healthcare access in minority or underserved populations as well. Dr. Xie is extensively published in Parkinson's disease and atypical Parkinson disorders.
