City of Des Plaines
From its beginning as a farming community born after the Treaty of Chicago in 1833, Des Plaines has embraced both change and commerce. German immigrants seeking political freedom flocked to the area in the mid-1800s, and the arrival of the Chicago, St. Paul and Fond du lac Railroad shortly thereafter ushered in a period of tremendous growth. In 1873, the settlement was incorporated as an official village, one which would struggle to recover from The Great Flood of 1881. After World War II and the opening of nearby Chicago O'Hare International Airport, Des Plaines typified Baby Boom-era prosperity by becoming the home of the first McDonald's restaurant and Oakton Community College. Today, as a city with myriad arts, cultural, educational and recreational offerings, Des Plaines has more than 58,000 residents. Comfort Keepers has been serving Des Plaines seniors and families since 2000.
Sometimes a little help means a lot.
Comfort Keepers provides industry-leading home care services that allow seniors in Des Plaines to continue living independently – and safely – in their own homes. For the Comfort Keepers team, our work is personal: we care for your loved one as if they were a member of our own family.
The first step in starting a relationship with Comfort Keepers Des Plaines is simple, but it is the key to our overall success. Our experienced home care professionals will meet with you and your loved ones to assess the senior’s medical condition, living environment and personal preferences. This allows for the creation of a comprehensive plan of service, tailored to a client’s individual needs. During this meeting, we can discuss options such as:
- Personal Care
- Companion Care
- Interactive Caregiving
- Respite Care
- Transitioning/Post-Surgical Care
- Alzheimer’s Care and Dementia Care
- End-of-Life Care
Comfort Keepers Des Plaines also works in partnership with Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Avantara Rehab, Brookdale Des Plaines Independent Living, Margolis Weldon Elder Law and Seasons Hospice to better serve our clients and families.
