Comfort Keepers provides home care services to the beautiful Holiday, FL areaa
Holiday, Florida is a small community located in the southwest corner of Pasco County. With the Gulf of Mexico to the west, New Port Richey to the north, and Tarpon Springs, Holiday residents enjoy living in its quiet neighborhoods while being close to everything. The community boasts just over 20,000 residents, and over a quarter of the residents are over the age of 62. The community supposedly got its name in the 1960s when the president of a new bank saw a street name with ‘holiday’ in near the bank and thought it would be a good name for the bank and the surrounding community. Our elderly home care aides have compared notes to share the top three reasons that make Holiday, FL a great place for senior living. Read them below!
Top Three Reasons to Call Holiday, Florida Home for Seniors
Holiday has a lot of lovely attributes that have its residents singing its praises. Here are the top three:
- There’s a Plethora of Parks. For such a small area, there are an array of parks in Holiday. Three different parks—Anclote River Park, Anclote Gulf Park, and Key Vista Park—in and around Holiday that offer residents the chance to get out and play in the Florida sunshine. These parks offer, among varying amenities, access to the Gulf and other waterways for boating, swimming, and fishing, picnic areas, playgrounds, dog parks and are all parts of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail.
- A lot of Waterways. Living on the water is one of the best things about Florida, and Holiday boasts a lot of waterfront opportunities. There’s miles of beautiful beaches—two are a part of the parks mentioned above, and there is also the Anclote River, which winds its way through Holiday and two of the above parks. Holiday is the perfect destination if you love boating, swimming, fishing or any other pastime spent on the water.
- Affordable Living. Florida’s communities aren’t always known for being the most affordable, especially if there is beachfront nearby, but living in Holiday is still affordable. According to a Liviability.com article, the median home price is just over $65,000, which is very affordable, especially for anyone on a fixed income.
