Creating a Career out of "Comfort"

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - One local business woman owns an award winning home care service; but the story of how she got started is what really makes the company special.

Ora Lee came to the U.S. from Israel years ago to teach Hebrew.

But her world was turned around when her husband passed away, and she moved to Grand Junction so her kids could be closer to family.

But the challenge was figuring out: what came next?

After hearing about a New Mexico branch of Comfort Keepers, a senior in-home care service, she decided to open her own franchise on the Western Slope - without any previous business experience or training.

Since then, the business has grown from its humble origins based out of a shed in her family's backyard to an award-winning enterprise nominated three times for the top women-owned businesses in Colorado.

Ora says it's all thanks to hard work and dedication, and a dream to provide for her family and the community.

She also says the business continues to grow and thrive, with two other offices located in south Denver and Delta.
