Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Common sense detectors for complete protection
One concern family members of seniors living alone face is the risk of fire. When senior mobility is a concern, this risk is particularly scary, but a good detection system can help ease worries. Because 24-hour in-home care is not possible or needed, a good detection system is the next best thing.
In the event of a fire, the SafetyChoice smoke detector will sound an alarm. This alarm also signals the SafetyChoice Centralized Monitoring Station to dispatch the local fire department. If the furnace or water heater begin emitting deadly, odorless gas, the SafetyChoice Carbon Monoxide Detector will alert the SafetyChoice Centralized Monitoring Station to send help immediately.
The detectors also sound in the home, which alerts anyone who is inside. The two-way communication feature of the PERS unit makes voice contact. This is to make sure the user and caregiver are aware of the situation and can leave the residence immediately.
A selection of in-home Personal Emergency Response Systems offered by Comfort Keepers are integrated with these services.
Home Safety Assessment
Comfort Keepers can provide an in-home assessment to evaluate your safety needs and recommend the right medical alert products. Comfort Keepers will visit the home, work with the family to determine the specific needs, and demonstrate how these home medical alert devices can help seniors stay safe and independent at home.
