We’re Flexible to Meet Your Needs
Whether you or a family member is experiencing physical challenges, Alzheimer’s/Dementia or some other difficult situation, Comfort Keepers can customize a plan of home care specific to meet your individual need or that or your family member. Because clients’ circumstances and needs change over time, we regularly review these plans. We work with the client and family to modify the plan when needed. This flexibility enables us to achieve our goal of helping clients to attain the highest level of independence and quality of life possible.
We can provide hourly service to full time, 24/7 senior care, based on the needs of each client and family.
Comfort Keepers Difference
- Our caregivers truly care.
We search to find those caregivers who display a true heart for caregiving and also understand how important it is for the senior client to continue living in their own homes. Our caregivers consider caregiving their calling in life—not a job. They’re right at home caring for seniors and other adults. We also train each Comfort Keeper on the essentials of excellent customer service, such as respecting their clients’ homes and personal property. On a regular basis, Comfort Keepers reviews the plan of home care of each client to measure the effectiveness and delivery of services needed by the client. We also review the performance of our caregivers, schedule random visits to clients’ homes, and gather feedback from clients and caregivers to determine how well they are implementing the plan. Through these means, we strive to assure family members that their loved ones are receiving the best elder care. - Interactive Caregiving®
Our distinctive approach to in-home care is at the very heart of Comfort Keepers. Our dedicated caregivers, the special people we call Comfort Keepers, transform day-to-day senior caregiving into opportunities for meaningful conversation and activities that engage and enrich the lives of seniors physically, mentally, socially and emotionally. This practice of Interactive Caregiving® can contribute to longer, healthier, more purposeful lives for seniors—a fact proven by many research studies that point to the health benefits of active living in later life. For maximum effectiveness, Comfort Keepers will customize an interactive plan for promoting the personality and unique interests and abilities of each senior client. We make it possible for the client to be involved in their own in-home care. On a daily basis the caregiver assists the client with opportunities to participate in physical, mental and social activities that they like and enjoy. Interactive Caregiving® may, for example, include walks in the neighborhood or dancing and listening to music; working together on household chores; discussing current events or personal interests; reminiscing while viewing photo albums; working on hobbies puzzles or crafts; and going shopping or to church, senior center or civic group activities. - Matching clients and caregivers. Compatibility of Comfort Keepers and seniors goes a long way to enhancing the Comfort Keepers caregiving experience. That’s why we take time to carefully match caregivers and clients based on their personalities and interests, as well as a client’s special caregiving needs and a Comfort Keepers’ special caregiving skills. We know our caregivers and we get to know our new clients before we assign a caregiver. The information we gain during the free in-home visit also helps us match the client with the most compatible caregiver.
Comfort Keepers Services
Conversation and Companionship—Comfort Keepers caregivers provide a social setting to encourage an exchange of thoughts and ideas with the client and sit down to share a meal together. Social contact such as this is proven to enhance the health, happiness and quality of the life of seniors.
Companionship and Homemaking—such as meal preparation, conversation, transportation, housekeeping, errand running, medication reminders, laundry, grocery shopping, recreational activities, mail assistance, organization, communication with family and tender loving care.
Personal Care—which includes special-diet meal preparation, hygiene and bathing, transferring and positioning, incontinence care, toileting, feeding and oral hygiene.
Incidental Transportation—Comfort Keepers provides transportation in addition to other senior care services, such as taking clients to medical appointments, barbershops, beauty salons, shopping, or wherever else a client wants to go. Getting seniors out and about is good for their mind, body and spirit, and an integral part of Comfort Keepers’ Interactive Caregiving®.
Medication Reminders—although Comfort Keepers cannot administer medications, they can help ensure that clients take their own medication as prescribed. Comfort Keepers can assist with opening medication containers, reading labels and reminding the client when it is time to take a dose.
Live-In Services—Comfort Keepers tailors care to each client’s needs, from a few hours a week to full time home care. Through our live-in services we provide full-time caregiving by a Comfort Keeper who lives in the client’s home to provide in-home care on a daily basis. The client and family may designate the types of non-medical in-home care services that are to be performed.
24-Hour Care—through our 24-hour home care service, a team of Comfort Keepers coordinates caregiving responsibilities in shifts around the clock. This offers clients and their families full-time peace of mind.
Respite Care for Relief of Family—family caregivers and those in their care can benefit from a little time off now and then. That is why Comfort Keepers offers respite caregiving. This service can be scheduled as needed to provide family caregivers time to run errands, go shopping or get some much-needed rest.
Veterans Care Programs—veterans or surviving spouses of veterans in need of in-home care may qualify for benefits through the Veterans Administration. Comfort Keepers is proud to serve those who have served our nation. We assist veterans and their spouses in the application process and provide in-home care services for approved participants in VA programs.
Safety Choice Technology Solutions, such as 24-hour monitoring systems, fall detectors, personal emergency response units and medication reminder devices that supplement care provided by family and professional caregivers. (We can partner with outside organizations—including home health care agencies, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes—to provide a total care solution).
Comfort Keepers’ SafetyChoice® Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) gives family members peace of mind around the clock that their loved one can live safely at home. With the PERS system, a Comfort Keepers client wears an emergency call button on a pendant or bracelet. By simply pushing the button the client instantly summons help in the event of a fall or other emergency. PERS units are monitored 24 hours a day at the SafetyChoice® monitoring center by specially trained personnel who dispatch help. Calls also can go out to 911 and family members. PERS brings help in the critical minutes, reducing the severity of injury or illness.
